COOKIE POLICY

Cookies are short text files sent by a server to a user’s device (generally to the internet browser) when the user accesses a website page. Cookies enable the web server to store information to use again during the same website visit (session cookies) or later (persistent cookies).

Cookies facilitate navigation of the website, enabling the storage of pages visited and other specific information, such as most frequently consulted pages and connection errors.

Cookies are stored, depending on the user’s preferences, by a single browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.) are often set to automatically accept cookies.  However, users can change their settings in order to disable or delete cookies, though this will mean that the optimal use of some areas of the site may be inhibited. Therefore, for an optimal use of this site, it would be necessary for users to configure their browser in such a way that it accepts the receipt of such cookies.

The website www.lincotekmedical.it makes use of  “technical cookies”, meaning browsing or session cookies, which ensure normal browsing and use of the website and are used to facilitate communications on an electronic communication network.

Third-party cookies

The website www.lincotekmedical.it makes use of the following third-party cookies.

Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, Inc.  (“Google”), which analyses traffic on the website. For that purpose, Google Analytics uses cookies, i.e. short text files sent by this website to the visitor’s computer.

The data controller of this site has adopted appropriate tools to reduce the analytical cookies’ powers of identification by masking significant parts of the IP address, and can use the data received from Google Analytics only in aggregated and anonymous form.

Furthermore, the data controller has accepted the Google Analytics Data Processing Amendment v20130906 and does not share the data collected with other Google services.

Google Analytics’ privacy policy can be found at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245 and Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

It is possible to reject the use of Google Analytics’ cookies by downloading and installing an additional browser component for the deactivation of Google Analytics at this link https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=it

Some pages feature interactive maps provided by Google that may install cookies to collect information and preferences on this service.

For additional information on the use of cookies by Google, you can read Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

The user can decide whether or not to authorise our website’s server to save cookies on their computer.  The user may, at any time, change their browser settings so that cookies are not accepted or saved.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers allow users to:

  • view cookies present and delete them individually;
  • block third-party cookies;
  • block cookies from particular websites;
  • block the installation of all cookies;
  • delete all cookies upon closing the browser.

Links to the information pages of the main browsers are given below.

As suggested by the Italian Data Protection Authority, there are options for browsing without cookies:

Blocking third-party cookies
Third-party cookies are not generally essential for browsing, which means that you can reject them by default, using the dedicated functions in your browser.

Activating the “Do Not Track” option
The “Do Not Track” option is present in most latest-generation browsers. Websites designed to comply with this option, when it is activated, should automatically stop collecting any of your browsing data. However, as previously mentioned, not all websites are set up to comply with this discretionary option.

Activating the “anonymous browsing” setting
You can use this function to browse without leaving any trace of your browsing data in your browser. Websites will not remember you, the pages you visit will not be stored in your browser history, and new cookies will be deleted.
The anonymous browsing function does not, however, guarantee anonymity on the internet, because it only prevents your browsing data from being stored in your browser; your browsing data will continue to be available to website managers and internet service providers.

Deleting cookies directly
There are dedicated functions that allow you to do this in all browsers. You should remember, however, that new cookies are downloaded each time you connect to the internet, meaning that the deletion must be carried out periodically.  If you wish, some browsers offer automated systems for the periodic deletion of cookies.
